What I Watched
Dune: Part Two – MAX
Paul Atreides unites with Chani and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family
All the films I watched this month were watched from our flight to Italy, I watched way more than the movies I mentioned down below but they were either rewatches or movies I fell asleep through so they’re not worth discussing.
I found Dune: Part Two much more interesting than the first part. There was a lot more drama throughout the movie and the way the film ended made you curious about the next act. I fell asleep during the first Dune but during Dune: Part Two I was on the edge of my seat!
Wonka – MAX
With dreams of opening a shop in a city renowned for its chocolate, a young and poor Willy Wonka discovers that the industry is run by a cartel of greedy chocolatiers.
I heard a lot of positive feedback about Wonka so I was very excited to watch it! Unfortunately, I didn’t like it. Some of the choices they made in Wonka were strange like all the songs. I’m all for musicals but when it’s not needed, it’s not needed. And I thought this Wonka film didn’t need music. I know the previous Wonka films contain music but they did it in a creative fun way and I thought the music in this Wonka film was trying too hard to make you feel something.
Madame Web – Netflix
Forced to confront her past, Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic that may have clairvoyant abilities, forms a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures, if they can survive their threatening present.
This was a random watch. I knew going in this was going to be a cringy watch but I didn’t think it was as bad as everyone said it was. It was actually funny in some parts. This is also one of those Marvel characters that isn’t part of the MCU so if you aren’t into those movies (which I’m not) then you can skip this. Our flight to Italy was really long so at this point I was just desperate for entertainment. haha
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent – Hulu
Moviestar Nick Cage is channeling his iconic characters as he’s caught between a superfan and a CIA agent.
This was a fun watch! I like that it didn’t take itself too seriously and you have to give it to Nick Cage because he knows when to make fun of himself and isn’t afraid to do it. Pedro Pascal was also very comical and it was fun to see him outside of the dramatic roles he usually does.

Traveled to Italy
In September, I traveled overseas to visit Italy with my family. I feel like I’ve already talked a considerable amount about my trip so go check out my photo diary posts about my Italian adventures in Rome and Venice to learn more about what I did the week I was in Italy.

Things I Love
Tangle Teezer Detangling Mini Hairbrush – Runway Pink
This is the travel-friendly version of the Tangle Teezer. I already have a regular-size Tangle Teezer but last year when I traveled to Mexico and brought the regular brush with me I ended up bending some of the bristles from it being in my luggage so I bought the miniature version to prevent damaging my normal brush again. I have thin hair and not a lot of it so this brush worked pretty well for me despite its small size. I especially love using this on my face-framing pieces to help define them which I have always had an issue with.
Vegamour GRO Revitalizing Shampoo & Conditioner
I was kindly sent a few products from Vegamour in exchange for an honest review, go read the full review here. I loved most of the products I received but since writing that post I think I’ve grown to appreciate the shampoo and conditioner more. I don’t have the greasiest scalps but since adding these two products to my hair cleansing routine I can now push my washing day one day further! Using this shampoo and conditioner combination makes my hair appear cleaner for a longer time which I adore because sometimes I just don’t feel like washing my hair.
Vegamour HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Hair Oil
This is another one of the hair products I was gifted by Vegamour. As I mentioned in the review post. This hair oil temporarily helps smooth down flyaways and calm frizz. I like to use it to scrunch the gel cast out of my curls. It smells amazing and is packaged in a luxurious pump bottle so whenever I use this I feel so fancy! haha
Second-hand Shopping
September was a fantastic month to shop second-hand! Because I was preparing for my trip to Italy I wanted some new pieces and Depop was the first place I looked. I was able to purchase some lovely dresses, tops, a cardigan, and even a purse for an affordable price, all in incredible condition! My love for shopping second-hand only continues to blossom!
