Since the start of my curly hair journey, I’ve been trying out a lot of new curly girl method-approved products. I know the CGM rules may seem intimidating, especially the list of ingredients you can’t use but honestly, it isn’t. If you read any of my previous hauls you can tell I don’t buy from expensive brands, I personally think if you’re going to use an item multiple times, it’s better to stick with something that you can afford to purchase over and over again and invest in products you don’t use as much. With that said, if you’re interested in trying out the CGM you can use this website (or this one) to help you discover if the product you are using is CGM-approved or not.
Anyways, back to the haul. In this haul, I’m showing you a few of the new washing and styling products I recently bought as well as some of my thoughts on the product, so far. I’ve used these products only a few times so and I like to use my hair products multiple times before I can judge them so just be aware of that.

As I Am Dry + Itchy Scalp Care Olive + Tea Tree Oil Dandruff CoWash
As I Am came out with a few new co-washes recently. The one that caught my eyes was the one with olive + tea tree oil. I have a very dry itchy scalp and suffer from dandruff so this was the perfect co-wash for me. I’ve only used this once so far. It has a different consistency for the original As I Am coconut co-wash, it reminded me of glue but without the stickiness, it also had a Vapor Rub-like scent. I don’t mind the consistency or scent as long as it works but I think I need to use this a couple more times to see any results. I’ll keep you posted.
Cantu Shea Butter Natural Hair Complete Conditioning Co-wash
Before I bought the previous co-wash I was using this one. After trying out the Cantu refresher I wanted to explore and try more Cantu products so I checked to see if they had a co-wash and they did so I bought it without hesitation. To be honest, this just feels like a regular conditioner, there’s not much hydration and I didn’t feel like it cleansed my scalp/hair like other co-washes. I think I need to try it a few more times before I can decide if I like it or not.
Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream
This was one of the products I left back in South Korea. Back when I was living in Korea I wasn’t following the curly girl method and I didn’t use curling creams that often so I was surprised I even had this product! Not sure if this is just Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk Defining Cream rebranded, or a completely different product. I haven’t checked the ingredients but just by smelling this product, this one is way more fragrant!
Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner
I used up all of my Kinky Curly leave-in so it was finally time for me to purchase this popular leave-in conditioner by Curls. Out of all the products I mentioned in this haul, I’ve used this one the most. First off, it has a very strong artificial blueberry scent but it doesn’t linger. The consistency is very much like any other leave-in. However, it’s very moisturizing but not too much which makes it a great product for layering on other styling products like gels and mouses.
Yes To Tea Tree Scalp Relief Soothing Scalp Treatment
Like I mentioned, I have a very dry scalp to the point, that I find myself scratching at my scalp often (it’s one of my bad habits). Because of the continuous scalp picking, I found that my scalp started to bleed one day, This was the final straw for me. I looked online for products to help soothe an itchy scalp and this one came up. It had amazing reviews and I was surprised to see this is CGM approved! I think I might review this product later, would you like to see that? Let me know if you enjoy reading my beauty reviews or not.
What was the last hair product you tried?
