What I Watched
Agatha All Along – Disney+
A spell-bound Agatha Harkness regains freedom thanks to a teen’s help. Intrigued by his plea, she embarks on the Witches’ Road trials to reclaim her powers and discover the teen’s motivations.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t impressed by the trailers for Agatha All Along, I actually think they looked bad. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this series! I thought because this show had so many characters that it would take away from the main plot of the series and make it feel like there was too much going on but after watching the whole series I think they handled the new characters pretty well. I can’t wait to see what they do next with the witch side in the MCU. I’m glad I went in with low expectations! haha
Inside Out 2 – Disney +
A sequel that features Riley entering puberty and experiencing brand new, more complex emotions as a result. As Riley tries to adapt to her teenage years, her old emotions try to adapt to the possibility of being replaced.
I’m not a fan of Dinsey expanding on its already successful media like Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, Moana 2, etc. Will I watch all these movies? Yes. But I want new ideas, not just an expansion of what is already a success but that’s a topic for another day. With that said, I thought Inside Out 2 was cute. I like the addition of the new emotions and what they did with the anxiety character. Because this is a film aimed at children, I wish they would’ve addressed how to manage stress and anxiety at a young age, I thought this was a missed opportunity.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes
Coriolanus Snow mentors and develops feelings for the female District 12 tribute during the 10th Hunger Games
I forgot to mention this movie in last month’s monthly favorites post. This is one of the films I watched on the airplane ride to Italy. I’m not the biggest Hunger Games fan, I read some of the books and watched the films and knew a little bit of what goes on in The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes but I didn’t read the book. I thought the first third was pretty good but I thought way too much happened in this film that it got confusing. We all know that Coriolanus Snow is an evil character based on the first Hunger Games movie but I don’t think this film explained it well. One minute he’s a good person and the next minute he isn’t, they didn’t make it gradual at all. Maybe I missed something? If you watched or read The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes let me know your thoughts.

Things I Did
Rekindled my love for Blythe Dolls
October was the month I really took a deep dive into the Blythe doll world. I’ve had my Blythe doll since 2008 and have always had her displayed on one of my shelves or dresser with a promise that I would fix her up one day. After a blog friend posted a picture of their Blythe doll I decided now was the time to fix up my doll. I filmed myself opening her up to make a few alterations and also started crocheting her clothing. It’s been so fun “playing” with my Blythe doll again, I wrote a substack post about how fixing my Blythe doll has been helping me tap into my inner child. It’s only been a month and I’ve done so much for my Blythe doll and I hope to continue to improve her in a childlike way.
Made candles & incense cones
I was feeling very crafty in October. For your sake, I won’t bore you with everything I painted but I did want to discuss making candles and incense cones because they were both fun to make. I used this DIY to create the candles out of toilet paper rolls. Afterward, I dressed the base of the candles with oil and rolled them in crushed lavender and rose petals. I also attempted to make incense cones but they didn’t hold shape and crumbled. I used this recipe for the incense cones even though they didn’t turn out (I didn’t have all the ingredients) they smelled amazing!
Tried the viral peanut butter dog painting with Lucy
Even Lucy did some crafts this month! I tried out the viral god peanut butter hack on her to create an acrylic painting. I filmed the process which you can watch here. Despite her being confused in the beginning she enjoyed all the treats and now I have a little painting to remind me of her. The fact she left a little heart is so precious! She’s a Pisces so she’s naturally artistic like that. haha

Things I Love
The Bake Down Podcast
The Great British Bake Off returned in October which has been my sweet treat that I look forward to every Friday. I don’t remember how I found this podcast but I’m glad I did because I enjoy a rewatch podcast! The Bake Down is a podcast for those who can’t get enough of the Great British Bake Off with hosts who were former Bake Off contestants!
La Dolly Dispatch Podcast
Another podcast that I’ve been loving is the La Dolly Dispatch. La Dolly Dispatch is a lighthearted bi-weekly chat between two good friends from Melbourne who have been collecting Blythe dolls for over 10 years. I came across this podcast when day when I was crocheting a dress for my Blythe doll and thought, I wonder if there is a Blythe doll podcast and there is! I believe this is the only Blythe Doll podcast out there. It’s so fun! The two hosts go through each Blythe doll release starting with the Kenner Blythe dolls. They also release special episodes where they interview other Blythe doll collectors or customizers and also share breaking Blythe news like the latest doll releases.
Instagram for My Blythe Doll
Because I’ve been really into everything Blythe dolls I decided to start an Instagram page for my new hyperfixation. This is also to keep all Blythe doll content organized in one place. I’ve only had this account for a week and already I’ve met some very sweet Blythe customizers and collectors and recently hit 100 subscribers which is cool!
YouBelongEverywhere Crop Tops
I found this adorable trinket top that featured a Blythe doll by the brand You Belong Everywhere Co. I loved the style of this artist so much that I requested this Calico Critters top. If you like these designs go follow the artist on Instagram. I found them through Depop but they recently had their shop taken off that platform and could use the support.
