What I Watched
Quiet on Set; The Dark Side of Kids TV – MAX
A docu-series that uncovers the toxic culture behind some of the most iconic children’s shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
I actually watched this previous month but forgot to include it in my March monthly favorites so I’m including it now. I grew up watching all of the shows mentioned in this docu-series so it was interesting to see what was happening behind the scenes. It was an insightful watch.
Wish – Disney+
A young girl named Asha wishes on a star and gets a more direct answer than she bargained for when a trouble-making star comes down from the sky to join her.
This is Disney’s 100th movie and it shows! There were so many nods to other Disney movies which I think made this film feel like Wish lacked its film identity if that makes sense. I couldn’t connect to the main character like I did with other Disney leads, I felt like she lacked a personality but I did enjoy the character of Magnifico, I felt like he was more interesting to watch. I didn’t like any of the songs and the animation style looked strange. I normally love Disney films even their lesser-known ones but this one just didn’t connect with me. On a positive note, the star character is super cute! If you watched this film let me know your thoughts.
What If…? (season 2) – Disney+
Exploring pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.
I enjoyed the first season of What If…? It was fun and interesting to see situations from a different timeline in the MCU play out. I’m not a fan of the animation style (too shadowy for my likely) but I’m willing to forgo the art style for good stories. However, this season just didn’t impress me. I found most of the stories boring. I was glad to see some of the actual voice actors reprise their Marvel characters!
What I Listened
TOMORROW X TOGETHER ~ minisode 3: TOMORROW
TOMORROW X TOGETHER – Deja Vu
KISS OF LIFE – Midas Touch
ONF – Bye My Monster
RIIZE – Impossible
RIIZE – 9 Days
&TEAM – Maybe
ZEROBASEONE – SWEAT
Things I Did
Went to Orlando
Early in April, my family and I went to Orlando Florida. We visit Universal’s Island of Adventure. Go read my photo diary post to view pictures of my trip and what happened, if you’re interested!
Gained 20 followers on Substack
I don’t keep track of my followers on Substack. However, whenever you log on to the Substack dashboard they update you on all your Substack statics, including your subscriber count. I remember that last month I only had like 5 followers and now we are at 20! I know that not might seem like much to most but, I’m very proud of these 20 followers! I try to not focus on numbers too much but when you’re creating content online I feel like you have to keep track of this stuff whether you like it or not. Go and subscribe to my Substack, Mooey’s Cozy Corner if you haven’t already. Maybe this will encourage me to write more posts. haha
What I Read
Make sure to follow me on Goodreads to be updated on what I’m reading and on StoryGraph if you’re curious about my book statistics. Stay tuned for a post on what I read this month coming in a few days!

Things I Love
Affirmators! Tarot
Early this month I acquired the Affirmators! Tarot and have loved working with this deck every day. I love the bright colors and cute illustrations. In April, I reviewed the Affirmators! Morning Mantra cards which are by the same company. I’ll review this tarot deck in a few months when I’ve connected with it more but I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all about this deck because so far I love it!
Bow Hair Clip
I bought this cute bow hair clip for my trip to Orlando so would have a cute hair clip to wear with my holiday outfits. It’s white/cream-colored plastic claw clip in the shape of a ribbon. It’s really cute and has served me well! haha

I’ve heard so much about ‘Quiet On Set’, I need to find a way to watch it in the UK, especially since I grew up watching so many of those TV shows.
So lovely to hear that you’re enjoying Substack too! In many ways, I’m enjoying writing posts there more than for my own blog because there’s such a fun, inspiring and engaging community. I might get more views on my blog, but it feels more like a closed-off space lately…

It’s a fascinating watch!
I have a lot of ideas for Substack posts but I’m still trying to find a balance between the posts on my blog and Substack. ♥

I also love your Magical Moments series. I guess it’s the sister series of Mundane Magic ♥. This is my first time hearing of Substack. I guess it’s similar to Lemon8? I gotta check it out.
I haven’t seen any new release of Disney films probably because I already have the hunch that it’s too derivative for me to enjoy them. I’ll add Wish to my watch list though and give it a try.
Let me follow you on GoodReads! c: x

Magical Moments is my monthly series where I share things that bring me happiness and that I’m grateful for. Mundane Magic is my weekly series where I share anything that happened throughout the week but yeah they’re sisters! haha
Substack is a new platform for writers, perfect for bloggers. I don’t know much about Lemon8 but I have seen their advertisements on Instagram. ♥

I really want to watch Quiet on Set, but I don’t have a way to watch it because I don’t carry what it’s available on :/ I also grew up watching all the shows that it talks about, so I think it would get to me quite a bit. I’ve read all the articles I can possibly find that talk about it and it’s so heart wrenching to think about what everyone went through, and all the people who still haven’t told their story because they don’t want to, or it’s still too hard for them. I went through some tough times in high school with older people – nowhere near as bad, but still – so it really is just heartbreaking to hear that these people were going through these things whilst living their lives in the spotlight, with the whole world watching them, so they had to act normal.
I haven’t watched the second season of What If…? yet either! So many new seasons of anime are currently coming out so I’ve got to keep up with them, plus I’m watching some old favourite shows alone and with my boyfriend too, but What If…? was interesting so I do want to watch the next season of that!

I think it’s available on HBO Max but I have Youtube TV and was able to watch it on there. I’m not sure if it’s like that in Australia thought but maybe you can check?
Yeah, it was weird. back when I was watching those shows I was a preteen but even though I knew some of the jokes were inappropriate at the time I thought that was the joke itself. However, I do agree some scenes went overboard and I feel bad for the actors and some of the staff who were involved that had to go through that mistreatment, no one deserves that. I’m sorry you went through something similar, you didn’t deserve that either. I hope you are in a much better place now. ♥
