What I Watched
Schmigadoon! (season 2) – Apple TV+
A couple on a backpacking trip discovers a magical town in which everyone acts like they’re in a classic musical.
Welcome to Schmicago! This is the follow-up season after Schmigadoon! This was fun. If you’re into musicals and don’t mind singing (there are like 2-3 songs per episode) then you might enjoy Schmicago. They pay homage to a lot of popular musicals such as Chicago, Hair, and Sweeny Todd, to name a few. It’s a strange batch of musicals to put together in one season but it works! haha
Lessons in Chemistry – Apple TV+
Set in the 1950s, Elizabeth Zott’s dream of being a chemist is put on hold when she finds herself pregnant, alone, and fired from her lab.
I was able to get 3 free months of Apple TV when I got a new iPhone so I’m taking this opportunity to watch shows exclusively on Apple TV. Lessons in Chemistry is one of them! I heard a lot about this book which is on my TBR! I enjoyed this series, I love the costumes and the acting was great. I didn’t know much about the premise of the Lessons in Chemistry only that it had to do with cooking and science. I felt the last two episodes were rushed and they threw in a curveball last minute which I wasn’t expecting, maybe they explain this better in the book which I now want to read!
The Marvels – Disney+
Carol Danvers gets her powers entangled with those of Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, forcing them to work together to save the universe.
I was scared to watch The Marvels after the terrible Marvel content we’ve gotten. However, this wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! I’m still not a fan of Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan but I felt she leveled up to more of a hero in this film. The film wasn’t that bad until they started singing…YES! You heard that right! They sing in this film. Why? Also, the only cut scene! Why is no one talking about that cut scene? I don’t won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen this film yet but come on!
Poor Things – Hulu
An account of the fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter, a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter.
This is a messed-up film! The film has strong visuals, outfits, and hair/makeup. Heck, I even appreciated the horror baby music but I didn’t vibe with the main plot of Poor Things, it’s really messed up. I get what it was trying to do but I personally don’t think women actors have to degrade themselves on camera anymore (nor did they ever) for the sake of “art”. I think it’s funny how Barbie (which was snubbed for an Oscar) is very similar to Poor Things but because Poor Things was more raunchy and directed by a man it got more attention. smh
GIRLS5EVA (season 3)- Netflix
A one-hit-wonder band from the ’90s gets a second shot at fame when a young rapper samples their song
I was really glad to see that season 3 of GIRLS5EVA was moved to Netflix. It’s such a funny series! If you enjoy shows like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and don’t mind people singing in shows then I think you’ll enjoy this show.

Things I Did
Returned to YouTube
After a year of not posting, I’m back on YouTube! I started off posting YouTube shorts of my previous videos on my Instagram, crochet Insta, and TikTok because I had them saved anyway so I might as well use them for content. I posted two new videos in March and by the time this post goes live, I will have just posted a new video which you can watch here. I hope to stay active on YouTube and post a new video every week or every 2 weeks, depending on how many ideas I can come up with.
Had a sister’s sleepover!
In early March, my older sister invited me and my younger sister over for a happy sister sleepoverTM as a way to spend time together. It was fun! We watched some films, ate yummy food, and got tarot readings. I even brought Lucy! Whenever my older sister visits Lucy always snuggles up to her so much, you can tell she misses my older sister so I’m glad I was able to bring Lucy and she seemed to adjust well! haha

Things I Love
Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Light Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil
About a year ago, I was using the popular Mielle Organics Rosemary Oil and it worked for me! However, after I stopped using it I started getting irritation on my scalp so I decided to stop using it. I read online that rosemary can irritate some people’s scalps because of how heavy the oil is so when I saw that Mielle released a light rosemary oil I was very interested! I still have half the bottle left but so far the oil has been working well on my scalp even after I stopped using it for a significant amount of time.

Ooh, I’m glad to hear you liked The Marvels! I’m much more easily pleased than most people when it comes to movies and TV shows, but I was worried about this one since it had Captain Marvel in it. I liked the first one, but since it got such bad backlash, I was worried they’d expect it to bomb and wouldn’t put as much work in it as much or something? I’ll have to watch some shows before I watch this though I’m guessing, because I don’t know all the characters.
I’ve also heard Poor Things is really full on, but it sounds amazing! I can only watch movies with heavy plots if I’m familiar with the actors – makes me feel more at ease or something – and since I already love Emma Stone, I think I’ll be okay watching it, so it IS on my to watch list!
Good luck on your return to YouTube, too ???? Hope you have a lot of fun with it!

I didn’t like that in the first Captain Marvel movie they didn’t really give her a personality therefore I felt like we weren’t connected with her as other Marvel characters. However, they make an effort to give her personality in this film. They also explain the other characters so you don’t have to watch the other shows if you don’t want to. haha
Yeah, there are a lot of nudity and sex scenes in Poor Things.
Thank you! I’m enjoying it so far! ♥
