Welcome back to another deck review. In the post, I’ll be reviewing the Affirmators! Tarot. Check out my last deck review here. I reviewed the Affirmators! Morning Mantras deck not too long ago but this time I’m reviewing the Affirmators! tarot deck which I’ve been using for the past few months. Continue reading to find out my thoughts and opinions on this tarot deck.
Knock Knock expanded their Affirmators! offerings into the realm of daily tarot! Your belief in magic (or magick) is not a pre-requisite for taking a spin with tarot card reading. Pull a random card and reflect on its message, or challenge yourself to read a more complex spread. Either way, you’ll get a good dose of age-old wisdom that you don’t have to be an age-old sage to interpret. Viva illumination!
The Affirmators! tarot deck was written by Suzi Barrett and illustrated by Vikki Chu. Suzi Barrett is an actor, writer, improviser, and teacher. Vikki Chu is an illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. The box contains 78 full-color, hand-illustrated tarot cards and a 48-page illustrated guidebook with affirmations for each card!

PROS
– Beautiful illustrations
– Cute whimsical artwork
– Sturdy box
– Affordable
– Bright lively colors
– Lovely card back artwork
– Feels like a quality deck
– Affirmations for each card
– Great to use for color work
The Affirmators! tarot cards are printed on a matte cardstock with rounded edges and gold foil on the back of the tarot cards. The cards are not too thick nor too thin and they shuffle well, this feels like a good quality tarot deck and it’s only $20!
The artwork in this deck is by the same artist who illustrated the Morning Mantra deck, quirky, Whimsical, and colorful! The cards are separated by suits, elements, and colors, there is beautiful illustrated artwork on the sides of the cards to show each tarot suit.
WANDS ~ FIRE ~ ORANGE/RED
CUPS ~ WATER ~ BLUE/TEAL
PENTACLES ~ EARTH ~ GREEN
SWORDS ~ AIR ~ YELLOW
One thing I enjoy about this deck is that in the guidebook, under each card explanation, there is an affirmation that you can use for the day or whenever you pull a card. I think this is a wonderful way to incorporate journaling or meditation into your routine as a daily affirmation. You can pull a card a day, read the affirmation for said card, and use that as your daily mantra or as a journaling prompt if you’re a journaler.
CONS
– Not the best guidebook
Some tarot decks contain useful knowledge and others are bleh, this tarot deck is the latter. I wouldn’t recommend this tarot deck to a new tarot user because I don’t think the booklet does a good job of explaining the traditional tarot cards to a beginner. If you do plan on getting this deck and you’re not familiar with how to read tarot then I recommend reading a separate tarot book.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I adore this deck! It was on my tarot wishlist for a long time and now that it’s part of my deck collection, it’s one of my favorite decks to use. I love looking at the affirmation for each card and using it as my daily mantra. This would make a great gift to an animal lover and/or someone who enjoys bright colors, or both!
