If you’ve been following me for a while then you will know that I love listening to podcasts. I’ve shared multiple podcast recommendations here on my blog before, multiple spooky podcasts because I like hearing scary stories. However, I know not everybody enjoys getting scared which is why I wanted to share a few non-spooky podcasts that I look forward to listening to every week.
For me to listen to a podcast often it needs to have good audio quality, the hosts have to act natural and enjoy what they’re doing, have chemistry with their cohost(s), the episodes aren’t too long nor too short, updated regularly, and keep me engaged throughout the entire episode. All these 3 podcasts fit all those requirements. Here are the 3 podcast suggestions that I recommend to you whether you are looking for a new podcast to listen to during a restless work day or during a long travel day.
Books Unbound
Unbinding books to get to their hearts! Ariel Bissett and Raeleen Lemay discuss the books they’ve read, the books they’ve bought, and recommend books to listeners every Sunday morning.
This has quickly become one of my new favorite podcasts that I look forward to each week. I discovered Books Unbound coincidentally through a Goodreads review! This podcast has been around 2019 so I have a decent back catalog that I’m currently working my way through. As much as I love browsing bookstagram for book recommendations, a lot of accounts I follow either recommend the same trendy books, and most of the time those books don’t interest to me. Since listening to the Books Unbound podcast I have actually bought and added so many new book recommendations to my tbr list. I also 100% blame this podcast for rekindling my love for reading. I use to be a casual reader but now I’m reading 2-3 books a month!
Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet
A comedy podcast featuring dramatic readings of one-star reviews written by real people with not-so-real problems. Host by Alex and Christine Schiefer.
Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet is such an entertaining podcast to listen to. The concept of reading (mostly) negative reviews is much funnier than it sounds, I love the dry sarcastic humor and sibling banter. This is one of the few podcasts that I listen to that I actually laugh out loud, the Schiefer siblings are hilarious! Definitely worth a listen!
Pod Meets World
We’re sending you to 1993 when TGIF reigned supreme and “Boy Meets World” first premiered. Danielle, Will and Rider are going back to school as they rewatch every episode of the iconic series, sharing memories, behind the scenes moments, and all the “Boy Meets World” stories a fan could ever want. Relive you first crush, first kiss, favorite moments and all the life lessons with Topanga, Eric, and Shawn.
I’ve tried listening to a lot of rewatch podcasts from shows of my past but Pod Meets World is the only one that I’ve stuck with because I loved the show Boy Meets World, the cast sounds like they are actually friends, and they explain each episode in detail without making it sound boring. The cast also provides behind-the-scenes stories and the cast genuinely seem to enjoy making the podcast, and trying to find a rewatch podcast that checks all those boxes is very difficult! It’s all you could want in a rewatch podcast! If you’ve never watched Boy Meets World then you may not care for this podcast but if you want some 90s nostalgia then you could always watch the series along with the cast.
