BT21 Koya Plush ♥ Crochet Pattern

Welcome back to another BT21 plush crochet pattern! If you’re new to this series let me explain a bit. BT21 are characters designed by the BTS members (click here for more information). Every month since December I’ve been crocheting one of the characters and sharing the crochet pattern on my blog. This month’s BT21 character is Koya!

“Smart, but looks sleepy while actually thinking deeply” Koya was created by RM.

To create Koya, again I used the same body pattern I used on Chimmy, Tata, and Cooky. I then made two huge ears and a nose. I’m really satisfied with how Koya came out. You could always just change the colors to make a koala plush. Haha

Supplies:
– H/5.00 mm crochet hook (my favorite hook)
– Light blue worsted weight yarn
– Purple worsted weight yarn
– Polyfil stuffing
– Black felt
– White felt
– Slanted tapestry needle (I use these)
– Glue (this is my favorite no-sew glue)
– Scissors

Aberrations
ch(s) – chains
st(s) – stitch(es)
slst – slip stitch (same as join)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
flo – front loop only
blo – back loop only
cc – color change
dec – decrease (same as sc2tog) (single two st together)
inc – increase (make 2sc in a single st)
(x_) – repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] – repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times
FO – finish off
RS- rounds/rows

Head
With hook and light blue yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 7 sts. Total = 7 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 14 sts
Round 3: [2sc in each st, sc 1 st](x7). Total = 21 sts
Round 4: [2sc in each st, sc 2 sts](x7). Total = 28 sts
Round 5: [2sc in each st, sc 1 st](x14). Total = 42 sts
Rounds 6-9: sc 42 sts. Total = 42 sts
Round 10: [dec 1, sc 1 st](x14). Total = 28 sts
Round 11: [dec 1, sc 2 sts](x7). Total = 21 sts
Round 12: sc 21 sts. Total = 21 sts
Round 13: [dec 1, sc 1 st](x7). Total = 14 sts
*start stuffing*
Round 14: sc 14 sts. Total = 14 sts
Round 15: [dec 1, sc 1 st](x7). Total = 7 sts
Round 16: sc 7 sts. Total = 7 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Ears (make 2)
Round 1: magic circle, sc 5 sts. Total = 5 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 10 sts
Round 3: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 20 sts
Rounds 4-5: sc 20 sts. Total = 20 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Nose
With hook and purple yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Round 2: 2sc in next 2 sts, sc 4 sts. Total = 8 sts
Round 3: sc 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Legs (make 2)
With hook and light blue yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Round 2-5: sc 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing (only for 1st leg)
For the second leg, DO NOT CUT OFF. Attach the second leg by ch 2 sts, slst to a stitch on the first leg. Now you will be creating the body.

Body
With hook and light blue yarn
Round 1: ch 9 sts, [sc 8 sts, flo sc 2 sts](x2). Total = 20 sts
Rounds 2-9: sc 20 sts. Total = 20 sts
Round 10: [dec 1, sc 1 st](x10). Total = 10 sts
*start stuffing*
Round 11: dec 5 sts. Total = 5 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Arms (make 2)
With hook and light blue yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Rounds 2-7: sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Tail
With hook and light blue yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 4 sts. Total = 4 sts
Rounds 2-3: sc 4 sts. Total = 4 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Assembly
Sew all of Koya’s body pieces together. The only pieces that should be stuffed are his head and body.

With the white felt, cut out Koya’s tummy and two circles for his ears. With black felt, cut out Koya’s face. Glue everything and lightly press down to secure.
