BT21 Tata Plush ♥ Crochet Pattern

It’s time for another BT21 crochet pattern! This month I’m making Tata, who was created by my favorite BTS member V. I originally wanted to post this pattern before Valentine’s Day because Tata is heart-shaped but I had planned to post the Twice Valentine’s Cards first and didn’t want to have two patterns up around the same time but better late than never, right?

“From BT Planet, Tata is very curious about everything.” Tata is also a shapeshifter and can transform into anything he desires which is why you may sometimes find him in different shapes. I love that Tata came out like how V imagined him.

I crocheted Tata using the same body pattern that I used with Chimmy but left a row of two out to make his body a bit smaller. Tata’s heart-shaped head is the highlight point and what I concentrated the most on. I could’ve made separate heart shapes and sewing them together but I really wanted to challenge myself and make one piece and I think it came out really well.

Supplies:
– H/5.00 mm crochet hook (my favorite hook)
– Red worsted weight yarn
– Blue worsted weight yarn
– Polyfil stuffing
– Black felt
– Yellow felt
– Slanted tapestry needle (I use these)
– Glue (this is my favorite no-sew glue)
– Scissors

Aberrations
ch(s) – chains
st(s) – stitch(es)
slst – slip stitch (same as join)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
flo – front loop only
blo – back loop only
cc – color change
dec – decrease (same as sc2tog) (single two st together)
inc – increase (make 2sc in a single st)
(x_) – repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] – repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times
FO – finish off
RS- rounds/rows

Head
With hook and red yarn
Round 1: Magic circle, 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 16 sts
Rounds 3-7: sc 16 sts. Total = 16 sts
Cut off and move to second part of heart
Round 1: Magic circle, 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 16 sts
Rounds 3-9: sc 16 sts. Total = 16 sts
*slst to 1st part of heart*
Rounds 10-11: sc 32 sts. Total = 32 sts
Round 12: [dec, sc 6 sts](x4). Total = 28 sts
Round 13: sc 28 sts. Total = 28 sts
*start stuffing*
Round 14: [dec, sc 2 sts](x7). Total = 21 sts
Round 15: sc 21 sts. Total = 21 sts
Round 16: [dec, sc 1 st](x7). Total = 14 sts
Round 17: sc 14 sts. Total 14 sts
Round 18: [dec, sc 1 st](repeat until you reach 5 sts). Total 5 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Legs (make 2)
With hook and blue yarn 
Round 1: magic circle, sc 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Round 2-5: sc 8 sts. Total = 8 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing (only for 1st leg)
For the second leg, DO NOT CUT OFF. Attach the second leg by ch 2 sts, slst to a stitch on the first leg. Now you will be creating the body.

Body
With hook and blue yarn 
Round 1: ch 9 sts, [sc 8 sts, flo sc 2 sts](x2). Total = 20 sts
Rounds 2-9: sc 20 sts. Total = 20 sts
Round 10: [dec 1, sc 1 st](x10). Total = 10 sts
*start stuffing*
Round 11: dec 5 sts. Total = 5 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Arms (make 2)
With hook and blue yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Rounds 2-3: sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Rounds 4-7: sc 6 sts. Total 6 sts
Cut off and leave long tail for sewing

Assembly
Sew the arms to the body. Then sew the head to the body. Cut out Tata’s face and dots (I cut out 13 dots) using yellow and black felt. Glue and press down lightly to secure.
