If you’ve been following for a long time (if you have, bless you! haha) then you may remember that I used to participate in Blogmas and even started a series of blog posts called ’12 Days of DIY’, a series of posts where I would post 12 DIY projects that were Christmas or holiday-related, back when I enjoyed the holiday season but as I got older, I started to dislike Christmas and the holiday season and eventually I stopped this series and Blogmas. I’m amazed at my younger self for posting so much content back then! Most of my Blogmas content has been taken down by me because I didn’t think they were my best posts and I wanted to update some of the crochet patterns with better terminology, hence today’s post!
This crochet pattern was originally posted in December 2014 and it shows! My crochet skills have definitely improved in the past 10 years and I’m more mindful of the yarn I used for projects. I also updated the pattern to include a way to hang the advent calendar and some other minor changes.
For this project, I used serval different yarns which I wouldn’t recommend! I recommend using a sturdy thick worsted-weight yarn so the calendar doesn’t droop down and maybe even consider attaching the calendar to a piece of wood or cardboard to display on so the items in the pockets don’t weigh down the calendar. Add whatever you want inside the pockets like tea bags, miniature treats, or toys. Get creative!
I probably should’ve posted this updated crochet pattern earlier this month so you had enough time to make this pattern for the holiday season. However, you can crochet one pocket each day in December this year and start using this advent calendar next year!

ASSEMBLY
Time for the annoying part, sewing! Sew 5 pockets cozies, horizontally and vertically, 5×5. After you have sewn all of the cozies together, sew a border around the calendar. Attach the strap to the sides and center of the calendar. Tuck in 25 treats in each pocket and your countdown to Christmas has begun!
TIP: If you don’t have numbered buttons, you can use wooden buttons and write the numbers with a sharpie, like I did.
Do you like advent calendars?

Hi, I want to try my hand at making these cozies for the advent calendar, but the pictures don’t show up. Do I need them? Thanks

Hi! I took down the photos because I wasn’t happy with them and planning on retaking them later. The pattern is still written so you don’t need to see the pictures to make the advent calendar. ♥

This is the cutest Advent Calendar I’ve ever seen, Michelle!!! I’m not familiar with crochet language. It looks so complicated. But I appreciate all the details that went into the post ♥ ♥ ♥ I’ve never done Blogmas for my blog ever. And I still haven’t lol.
