Star Butterfly Mushroom Headband ♥ Crochet Pattern

On the sixth day of 12 Days of DIY, I crocheted for you, a mushroom headband! If you are up to date on season 3 of Star vs. The Forces of Evil then you may be familiar with the episode where Ponyhead invites Star to have dinner with her sisters. In that episode, Star wears one of my favorite outfits, a mint bomber-style jacket with a frilly pastel pink dress and a mushroom headband. Since I’ve crocheted Star’s other headbands in the past I decided to make the latest addition to her headband collection.

In this post, I’m only going to show you how to make the mushrooms. Follow the instructions on how to crochet the base of the headband here.

Supplies

– H/5.00 mm size crochet hook
– G/4.25 mm size crochet hook
– Pink worsted yarn (The mushrooms are a pastel red/coral color but I didn’t have a yarn that color so I went with a pink or coral yarn color)
– Yello worsted yarn (or a tan brown)
– Light green worsted yarn
– Headband base
– White felt
– Sewing needle
– Hot glue gun

– Scissors

Aberrations

Ch(s) – chain(es)

St(s) – stitch(es)
Slst – slip stitch
Sc – single crochet
Dec – decrease crochet

(x2) – repeat __ amount of times

Mushroom top (make 2)

– Magic circle, sc 7 sts. Total = 7 sts

– 2 sc in each st (x7). Total = 14 sts

– Sc 14 sts. Total = 14 sts

– Dec 1, sc 1 (x4). Total = 10 sts

Cut off

Mushroom bottom (make 2)

– Magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts

– Sc 6 sts (x6). Total = 6 sts

Cut off

Assembly

Hot glue the round part of the mushroom bottom to the inside of the mushroom top. repeat to the other mushroom. Next, glue the mushrooms to the headband leaving 16 rows of stitches between each mushroom or 8 rows starting at the center of the headband.
