We are half way through the 12 Days of DIY! Six more projects left before the end of my DIY December series. If you guys didn’t already know on the odd numbered days I post a non-crochet project and on the even numbered days I post a crochet pattern. So when I’m done with the 12 Days of DIY there should be 6 crochet patterns and 6 non-crochet projects total.
Anyways, today’s DIY was inspired by my younger sister yet again. She gave me the idea for the Gingerbread Cozy and she inspired me to crochet these adorable fast food ornaments. Earlier this month I gave my sister my mini Christmas tree because I wanted to buy a white one. I gave her some of the many ornaments that I bought from the Target mini tree section. However, she complained that her tree lacked personality so I decided to make her some ornaments out of her favorite things, food! Not just any food though, fast food. She loves burgers, pizza, tacos, burrito, etc. I crocheted mini fast food ornaments for her tree and she loved them! All of these ornaments are easy to crochet and you can whip them up in a number of minutes.

Assembly
You should have five crochet pieces in total. Sew the top of the hamburger to one of the bottoms. Before you sew completely add seed detail with white yarn or thread, stuff lightly and then sew the rest shut. Sew the remaining of the bottom buns together and stuff lightly. Cut out the rest of the hamburger’s ingredients with felt. I cut out lettuce, two tomatoes and a slice of cheese for the burger. Next, stack in whatever placement you want and glue each piece to each other. Finally, attach the ornament hook to the center of your burger.
Taco shell
– Ch 6, slst to form a circle. Total = 6 sts
– 2 sc in each st (x6). Total = 12 sts
– 2 sc in each st (x12). Total = 24 sts
– Sc 24 sts. Total = 24 sts

Assembly
Fold the circle piece in half to create a taco shell. Sew 1-2 stitches on the sides to keep the taco’s shape. Cut out lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese using felt and glue inside the taco. Attach an ornament hook to the back of the taco and you are done!
Pizza (crust)

– Ch 1, turn, sc 2 sts, dec , sc 2 sts. Total = 5 sts
– Ch 1, turn, dec 2 sts, sc 1 st, dec 2 sts. Total = 3 sts
– Ch 1, turn, dec, sc 1 sts. Total = 2 sts
– Ch 1, turn, dec. Total = 1 st
Cut off, leave long tail for sewing
Assembly
Place the cheese on top of the crust and sew the sides around, not the crust though! Fold-down the top part of the crust (where you crocheted 2 rows of 6 sc) and sew to form a bubbling crust. Once you are done with the sewing decorate your pizza slice however you want. I used red felt to cut out mini pepperoni shapes then glued them on top of the cheese. Attach the hook to the back of the pizza and you are finished!
