☆ This week I felt an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and sadness during my monthly menstrual cycle (TMI, I know!) I decided to self-diagnose using Google and realized it could be PMDD. I struggle with anxiety and depression but I monitor my mental health and can tell what triggers my mental health outbursts so I haven’t had one in a while until my period arrived. My menstrual cycle is unpredictable, sometimes it’s quick and I experience no pain but other times it’s a constant issue, and sometimes I feel super inspired internally but externally I barely want to move! However, my two recent monthly cycles were completely different as I felt worthless and very depressed. Thankfully, this was only temporary and as of now, I’m feeling a whole lot better! If you experience PMDD, what do you usually do?

☆ I baked these banana crumb muffins as we had many bananas. I highly recommend using this recipe if you need to get rid of bananas and want to bake something aside from banana bread.

☆ This week Georgia must have found out the PSL was returning because it celebrated by cooling down the weather to the mid-to-early 80s! It felt so nice when I took Lucy on her walkies! I despise summer with the passion but this week made me excited for the return of autumn and the promise of cooler temperatures. With that said, it seems like this will be short-lived as next week it’s expected to return to the 90s…

I have PMDD, and trust me, it’s a rough one. I’ve been doing research in figuring out some more natural ways to make you feel better, and there are a few things. An increase in iron/red meat tends to help for some reason, making sure you sleep enough (because you feel low energy), exercise, meditation, making sure you’re getting enough sun, and if not, taking vitamin D supplements, and just being kind to yourself. I struggle with PMDD and SAD, so in the winter, it is a huge struggle, and it’s important to make sure that I do everything I can to not get too down. I hope some of these tips help!

Thank you for the tips! I really hope this isn’t a regular thing for me going forward because it sucks. I do most of these things regularly and take an iron supplement because I don’t eat meat but I will buy some vitamin D supplements to see if it helps my PMDD next time.
I hope some of these help you with your PMDD. Have you heard of sunlight therapy lamps? I heard they help those who suffer from SAD. ♥

Banana crumb muffins sound delicious ❤️
PMDD is quite serious! A friend of mine suffers with it, and she’s had a tricky time post-diagnosis to get any sort of proper help with navigating it around work and her personal life. Definitely get things checked out at the doctors’!

They were very yummy!
From what I “researched” via Google it varies from person to person. I didn’t really start noticing something was wrong until last year and I made it a mental note to track my mental health around my periods more often. I’ll bring it up to my doctor next time I go in for a check-up just to make sure it’s not more serious. ♥
