What I Watched
Glitter and Greed: The Lisa Frank Story – Amazon Prime
A nostalgic look at Lisa Frank Inc., the iconic ’90s brand that defined girlhood, exploring its psychedelic illustrations and the company’s hidden world
As a kid in the early 2000s, I loved Lisa Frank. I don’t think I ever owned anything (at least not that I remember) by her because her stuff was expensive and my parents would always make me buy the cheaper school supplies but I loved seeing Lisa Frank’s stationery at school and was always envious of other girls who had all the Lisa Frank notebooks and folders. This documentary
I think the most surprising thing about watching this documentary was how mysterious Lisa Frank was and still is! I know they have now started selling Lisa Frank merch again but after watching this you don’t want to support her brand because of all the traumatic things she made people go through
Martha – Netflix
In this revealing documentary, Martha Stewart recounts her rise to fame and the controversies that followed.
I was in a documentary mood after watching Greed & Glitter because I watched Martha afterward. I only knew of Martha Stretart because she had a show on Food Network and I grew up watching Food Network. Martha didn’t just only cook though, she featured crafts and decorating which was refreshing to watch as a crafty kid. I didn’t know much about Martha so I found this doc very interesting.
Challengers – Amazon Prime
Tashi, a former tennis prodigy turned coach, transformed her husband into a champion. But to overcome a recent losing streak and redeem himself, he’ll need to face off against his former best friend and Tashi’s ex-boyfriend.
After hearing so much hype about Challengers I decided to give it a watch and I didn’t get it. I don’t understand the hype. It’s a very thirsty film but like not compared to other films out there. Plus, I personally don’t find any of the main cast attractive so I was bored a majority of the time. I had to fast-forward the last 30 minutes because it felt like it dragged on. if you watched Challengers let me know your thoughts because I feel like I’m missing something.

Things I Did
Started a Substack about Blythe Dolls
One of my New Year’s goals was to transform my old Substack into one about Blythe dolls! It’s been a few months since I dived into the world of Blythe and I’m still just as obsessed! I mention Blythe doll news and posts about my experience “playing” with my dolls. I also plan to release some cute crochet patterns for dolls for paid members! Go and subscribe to my Blythe Doll Substack if you’re interested!

Things I Love
Snow day
In early January, we were surprised with a snow day and had a blast! It was my nephew’s first time playing with the snow and Lucy’s 3rd or 4th time seeing snow, she loves the snow! I also love the snow, as someone who was born and raised in Chicago some of my earliest memories are snow-based. Snow is so magical, it literally sparkles! haha
Lavendula Babe Blythe Doll
In January, I received my first official Blythe doll in 18 years! The last time I had an official Blythe doll was in 2007 and there have been so many changes to Blythe in all that time. I wrote about all the details here if you’re interested. Lavendula Babe was the first Neo Blythe Doll I saw released when I dived back into the world of Blythe so having her was full circle! I love her so much and have been having so much fun making things for her and taking pictures of her on my Blythestagram!
Satin Pom Pom Beanie Hat
With is being winter, I bought a satin-line beanie hat to wear on my daily dog walkies to help protect my curls from friction from regular wool hats. I have this white pom pom beanie because it easily matches my wardrobe.
The Healing Waters Oracle Deck by Rebecca Campbell
My older sister gifted me this oracle deck for Christmas. I wanted a water-themed deck because I’m a water sign and I think it will come in handy during summer. I also want a watery tarot deck to go along with this oracle so if anybody has any suggestions let me know.
Pen Pals
This month, I also received my first letter from one of my new penpals that I acquired late last year. They even surprised me with a mini fennec fox calico critter! It’s so fun having a penpal. Throughout my lifetime I’ve had penpals but they usually end up stopping writing so I hope I can keep this penpal for a long time.
