☆ I made the cutest Hello Kitty mermaid vegan sugar cookies! I used a recipe from the vegan cookie connoisseur. I tried making icing sugar out of Aquafaba (chickpea brine) but the icing never set so the icing on these cookies isn’t vegan-friendly but it is vegetarian-safe! I decorated the Help Kitty cookies to be mermaids as part of one of the Mermaid Instagram challenges. I made a fin using melted white chocolate and food dye to match the colored icing. I rushed this skip so the chocolate fins don’t look as mermaid-like as I would’ve hoped but I’m still proud of what I made.

☆ I discovered this amazing lotion through Lemon8 (does anybody use that app?). If you love sweet scents and want to smell like a cupcake (which I do) then this is the lotion for you! This lotion also does a wonderful job of keeping your skin moisturized, I can skip a day without applying a moisturizer to my skin and it will still feel hydrated and smooth. The scent is very overpowering and will linger throughout the day so if you’re not into sugary scents then this isn’t for you but they do offer a few different scents. The only flaw I have with it is the applicator tip feels cheaply made.

☆ Mermaid reading challenge update! I’ve read 8 mermaid books so far! There are only a few days left in this challenge so I’m going to try to finish as many of the 3 books that I’m currently reading as I can. My goal is to round it up to at least 10 books because that number seems nice and doable. ☆ This Sunday is my birthday! I’m planning on going out and getting a special dinner and treating myself this weekend. I can’t believe I made it one year into my 30s but just barely! haha
