At the beginning of the year, I shared a glimpse of my bullet journal that I was planning to use in 2024. In that post, I mentioned that this would be the first year that I wasn’t going to use a planner but instead adding a weekly layout to my bullet journal and using that as a planner. I’m happy to report that I’ve been very consistent with my bullet journal to the point that I completed the journal I used! This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time because we are halfway through the year and the ideal time to switch to a new journal which is what I did!
I can get a bit too personal in my journal pages so I won’t be sharing any photos of the inside in this post but I might share some later down the line. In this post, I wanted to share my new journal with you all and what I’ll be including in my journal for the remainder of the year. Hopefully, I can inspire some of you to also implement some of these ideas into your journals.

THE JOURNAL
I’m using this dotted journal, this brand is very affordable and the quality is pretty good! The colors are a bit off less bright then the photos but the notebook can open at 180 degrees and lay flat which I love. Included with the journal is a ribbon bookmark, pen loop, inner file pocket, and an elastic to keep your notebook secure. The paper is on 120 gsm dotted paper. My go-to pen is the Pilot G2 0.7 mm fine point ben in black and Zebra Midliners and I haven’t experienced any bleeding or transferring on the other side on this paper. Be careful if you place a bunch of stickers on the colors like I do. The front cover spine can crease which can affect some of the stickers close to the spine. I had this issue with my first journal so I made sure not to place stickers too close to the edge this time.
Most of the stickers that I used on the cover are from HelloPaperCat, from my latest stationery haul. The rest of the stickers are from my sticker collection. On the inside, I placed an animal pocket that I got from Daiso Korea. I like to adhere to these pockets in my most used journals to keep loose stickers or whatever inside for later.
DECORATING MY NEW JOURNAL
WHAT I WILL KEEP DOING
2024 goals and book tracker ~ I shared my 2024 goals and book tracker pages in my 2024 bujo setup and I will be continuing to use those trackers in my new journal. I’m going to print out a copy of these pages on sticker paper and add them to my new journal just so I don’t have to redraw all the details.
Vision board ~ I was debating whether or not to make a new vision board but I still love the vision board I made earlier this year so I plan to do the same as my 2024 trackers by printing and sticking the already made pages to my new bullet journal.
Monthly calendar ~ I use monthly calendars to keep track of my online content so this is an essential in my notebooks. I might make the squares I draw in a bit bigger bigger as now I’m making short-form videos and it’s difficult to keep track of them in my monthly overview.
New weekly layout ~ Another essential. I’ve switched from a horizontal layout that I used at the beginning of the year to a box layout. I’m a checklist planner girlie so having a more vertical weekly layout is much more beneficial for me to work with.
Monthly media trackers ~ I use these trackers to keep track of the all music and books that I’ve consumed throughout the month. I did switch up the book tracker that I used at the start of the year. I shared the new monthly book tracker in this post. I like these monthly media trackers as they help me remember what entertainment I enjoy in the month and make my ‘This Month’ series easier to write.
WHAT I WANT TO DO MORE OF
Decorative pages ~ I always have good intentions when it comes to making decorative scrapbook-like pages to document special occasions but I never get around to it. I make a mental note and will write something quickly down on a post-it note or a receipt but I never take the time to make these pages happen and I always regret it! For the rest of the year, I’m going to challenge myself to make these spreads the same day when I still have all my fresh thoughts from said special day.
Mood boards ~ I’ve shared my bulletin mood boards on the blog many times (summer 2024 mood board coming soon!) but I also want to make some mood board collages in my journal for whatever niche aesthetic I’m currently vibing with. I recently made two, yes, TWO! Mermaid aesthetic boards, a mermaid out of water, and a mermaid in water board, because both aesthetics are completely different! These were so fun to make and I can’t wait to make more!
NIght pages ~ You’ve all heard of morning pages, right? Well, I want to start adding night pages to my journal. This will be a page where I will dedicate my innermost thoughts to run wild, but I will write this at night instead of morning. I tend to use my journal at night the most which is why I’m calling these night pages. I don’t plan on making these every day but whenever I feel like I have a lot to get off my mind.
Gratitude lists ~ I write gratitude lists fairly often in other journals and my Magical Moments posts are basically a public gratitude list. However, I only made 1-2 gratitude lists in my first 2024 journal and I would like to make more for the remainder of the year.
Are you using a new journal for the second half of the year?

Night pages sound so exciting! I wanna try that! I feel like I’m a nocturnal person at heart and I feel like I can bare more of my deep thoughts when it’s quiet and everyone else is asleep. Thanks for the idea, Michelle! x
I love your Year Bujo setup ♥. Your attention to detail never fails to amaze me! It’s like a second fresh start within the same year. I always buy six-month journals before because I feel like I can manage time much better that way lol. I’m so glad other people are doing it too!

Yeah, I’m much more creative at night but I also like to wake up early because I like sticking to my routine and getting everything done before noon. Morning pages seems like it would be a good fit for me but I just don’t have the extra time or the proper brain cells in the morning. haha
Thank you! This is my first time finishing a journal halfway through the year! I always buy a new journal at the beginning of the year but I rarely finish any of them. So excited to use this journal! ♥
