Latte Art Coaster ♥ Crochet Pattern

I’m a huge coffee addict and love anything that has anything to do with coffee, latte art being one of them. This idea of making a latte art coaster has been in my head for a long time. I’ve attempted this project many times and always ended up failing but I finally made a pattern and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Like I said, I failed to make this coaster many times but I finally came up with instructions that I think make sense and look like an actual 2D cup of coffee with latte art. To get the color change perfect (a constant struggle in the world of crochet) I cut off after I finished using each color and used slip stitches and chains accordingly.

– H/5.00 mm crochet hook

– White worsted weight yarn

– Brown worsted weight yarn

– Worsted weight yarn (you pick the color)

– Scissors

– Tapestry needle

ch(s) – chain(s)

st(s) – stitch(es)

slst – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

tr – treble crochet

blo – back loop only

(x_) – repeat _ amount of times

With white yarn, you are going to create the heart. I used this heart pattern but don’t cut off when you finished the heart!
– Slst around the heart. Total = 26 sts
Cut off and weave all loose ends

cc to brown yarn and sc behind the stitches of the slst you did in the previous round. 2sc in the first and last sts. You should have 28 sts. Total = 28 sts

– Ch 1, [2 sc in next st, sc 1 st (x12)], 2sc in last st, slst to first st. Total = 41 sts

– Sc 41 sts, slst to first st. Total = 41 sts

Cut off and weave all loose ends

cc to the white yarn and insert hook where you left off, slst.

– Ch 1, [2 sc in next st, sc 2 sts (x12)], 2sc in last st. Total = 54 sts

Cut off and weave all loose ends

cc to the last yarn color and insert hook where you left off, slst.

– Ch 1, sc 54 sts. Total = 54 sts

Cut off and weave all loose ends

With H hook and the color, you used in your last round. Insert your hook on the side of your cup, slst.

– Ch 1, sc 4 sts (x3). Total = 4 sts

– Dec 2 sts. Total = 2 sts

Cut off

Weave in all loose ends and you’re done!
