☆ Well…it was a difficult week for the United States because it was Inauguration Day. Since the beginning of 2025, it just feels like it’s been tragedy after tragedy but the difference is we saw this one coming. I’m stupidly optimistic so I believe things will get better but right now it feels nearly impossible to think that something better is coming. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way so whether you’re American or not, I hope you’re doing well. Hang in there things will get better. It has to.

☆ A new Calico Critter joined my family this week! One of my pen pals gifted me another fennec fox critter but this time the tiniest one! It’s so freakin cute! I can’t even! It’s the small joys in life that keep me going.

☆ I finally joined Bluesky. I’ll only start using it more if more people I know/follow join. It’s from the people who first created Twitter (before it became a dumpster fire). I decided to join because the people who run Meta and X are acting like fools. I finally deleted X, I still had it because a few people I know still use it but personally stopped using it sometime last year. I’m still using Instagram and Threads because most people I follow are actively using it but who knows what will happen. I’m not sure if I should return to TikTok. I haven’t used it since it went away last weekend and hesitant to return to the app. It’s such a strange time for social media, I don’t want to be someone who joins every platform but I also don’t want to use broken apps from people whose views don’t align with my own. I would love to know your thoughts on all this app drama.

Calico Critters!! What a throwback! I’m moving next week, and can’t wait to be able to buy silly little trinkets again. I’ve been so restrained while we save and to reduce the amount of things I have to move, heh. Perhaps I’ll have to pick one or two up for my new desk set-up!
I’m glad so many of us have left X! I left two years ago I think, and it’s been great. To be honest, I’m happy with my current social media situation. Substack, Threads and bookstagram – my main IG is terrifying to me for some reason.

I should’ve deleted X much earlier but I kept it because some of my friends still used it but enough is enough for me. I need peace. This year, I plan to focus on my blog, YouTube, and Substack. I’ll still use my Instagram but I mainly use my Blythestagram because it brings me such joy and the community is awesome! ♥
