Star Butterfly Devil & Cactus Headbands Crochet Patterns

If you watch Star Butterfly vs. the Forces of Evil. (literally the longest name for a cartoon, ever!). You will notice that Star Butter wears tons of adorable headbands that wonderfully complaints her heart-shaped blush. Star wears various headbands in the series but the one she wears the most is a devil headband which she has in both red and hot pink. There are probably thousands of red-colored devil headbands out there which is why I chose to make the hot pink. But it was the cactus headband that originally caught my eyes and gave me the idea to make these cute headbands from season one, episode 9 to be exact!

Supplies
– H/5.00 mm crochet hook (my favorite hook)
– Hot pink worsted-weight yarn
– Green worsted weight yarn
– Slanted tapestry needle (I use these)
– Headband
– Hot glue gun
– Scissors

Aberrations
ch(s) – chains
st(s) – stitch(es)
slst – slip stitch (same as join)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
flo – front loop only
blo – back loop only
cc – color change
dec – decrease (same as sc2tog) (single two st together)
inc – increase (make 2sc in a single st)
RS – right side/front side
WS – wrong side/back side
(x_) – repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] – repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times

HEADBAND
With hook and yarn
Round 1: magic circle, 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Round 2: sc 6 sts. Total – 6 sts
Insert headband
Round 3: sc 6 sts until you reach the end of the headband (45-50 rows). Total = 6sts
Round 4: [dec 1 st, sc 1 st](x3). Total = 3 sts
Cut off and weave ends

DEVIL HORNS (MAKE 2)
With hook and yarn
Round 1: magic circle, 5 sts. Total = 5 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st(x5). Total = 10 sts
Round 3: sc 10 sts. Total = 10 sts
Round 4: [dec 1 st, sc 1 st](x5). Total = 5 sts
Cut off and weave ends

CACTUS (MAKE 2)
With hook and green yarn
Round 1: magic circle, 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Rounds 2-5: sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Round 6: [dec 1 st, sc 1 st](x2). Total = 4 sts
Cut off and weave ends

CACTUS SIDES
With hook and green yarn
Row 1: ch 4, slst to 2nd st from hook.
Row 2: ch 3, slst to 2nd st from hook
Row 3: sc 2, slst, sc 2
Row 4: sc 3 sts
Cut off and weave ends

ASSEMBLY
Attach the cactus leg to the side of the first cactus piece to the 4th row, repeat to the other side. Lastly, use the hot glue gun to glue the horns to the headbands. I left 14 stitches between each horn and cactus. Apply a bit of pressure so that the crochet pieces securely stay on.
