Over The Garden Wall Rock Plush ♥ Crochet Pattern

Over The Garden Wall is a cartoon about these two brothers who get lost in the woods and are trying to find their way back home. It’s the perfect autumn series because it screams fall and takes place on Halloween.

If you watch Over The Garden Wall then you may be familiar with the rock that the littl brother, Greg, carries with him on their adventure. I had the idea to crochet a rock plushie for all you who plan to dress up as Greg for Halloween. You can carry this rock friends with you on your Halloween adventures!

This is a very easy pattern that any crochet beginner can make! I also used this crochet pattern to make the Animal Crossing fossil in this post.

Supplies
– H/5/00 mm crochet hook (my favorite hook)
– Grey worsted weight yarn
– Slanted tapestry needle (I use these)
– Polyfill stuffing
– Black felt
– White felt
– Red felt
– Yellow felt
– No-sew glue
– Darning needle
– Scissors

Aberrations
ch(s) – chains
st(s) – stitch(es)
slst – slip stitch (same as join)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
flo – front loop only
blo – back loop only
cc – color change
dec – decrease (same as sc2tog) (single two st together)
inc – increase (make 2sc in a single st)
RS – right side/front side
WS – wrong side/back side
(x_) – repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] – repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times

ROCK PLUSH
With H hook and grey yarn
Round 1: Make a magic circle, sc 6 sts. Total = 6 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 12 sts
Round 3: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 24 sts
Round 4: Sc 24 sts. Total = 24 sts
Round 5: [2sc in next st, sc 1 st](x12). Total = 36 sts
Rounds 6-8: Sc 36 sts. Total 36 sts
Round 9: [Dec 1 st, sc 1 st](x12). Total = 24 sts
Stuff with poly fil stuffing
Round 10: [Dec 1 st, sc 1 st](x12). Total = 12 sts
Round 11: [Dec 1 st, sc 1 st](x6). Total = 6 sts
Cut off and weave loose yarn ends

ASSEMBLY
Cut out the rock’s face shapes with the colorful felt sheets. Two white circles, two dark blue pupils, a yellow smile, a black mouth, and a red tongue. Glue everything together with a no-sew glue or you can also sew them with thread. Now you have your own pet rock! Name it whatever you want and go make some rock facts!
