☆ I don’t know about you, but I’ve been so overwhelmed with emotions the past few weeks. It’s so difficult to pretend like everything is fine with all that is happening in the US. I feel guilty doing my silly hobbies or writing blog posts when I feel so sad, scared, and helpless with the start of the world. In the past, I would say that I’m optimistic about the future, but with everything that has happened in the US the past year, I really don’t know what’s going to happen next and it’s an unsettling scary feeling.

★ Melanie Martinez – POSSESSION

☆ This week, I finally got around and organized my desk, threaded my eyebrows, and created my vision board in my journal for the year. It’s funny how a tiding can make you feel a little bit better.

★ If you can overthink the worst, you can overthink the best too

☆ The first book I read this year was The Housemaid by Freida McFadden, and I rated it 5 stars on Goodreads! I’ll discuss it more in my ‘What I Read January 2026’ post later but I feel like starting off the year with a 5-star read is a good sign! I recently got hold of the second book in the series via Libby, The Housemaid’s Secret, and I cannot wait to start it this weekend! I know this book series recently gained popularity due to the film being released a few months ago but this series has been recommended to me by so many for years, and I’m just now getting to it, and I’m loving it! Have any of you read the Housemaid series?
