☆ I hope you all had a lovely Christmas (if you observed it). I spent Christmas Eve with my family and ate a lot of delicious food, and played games where I won two beauty Advent calendars! We opened our gifts the following day, on Christmas morning. Some of my favorite gifts I received were the Hello Kitty Island Adventure game for Nintendo Switch and a Sanrio blind box where the characters are dressed in gothic lotia-inspired outfits! Luckily, I opened the My Sweet Piano plush I wanted in the Healing Rest Day outfit! I’ll be posting my annual ‘What I Got Christmas’ post next week! What did you do on Christmas? What was your favorite gift?

☆ It’s been almost a week since I started participating in The 12 Magical Nights. This is a daily ritual where you write down 13 wishes and burn one each day leading up to the New Year. Essentially, the universe grants you 12 of the 13 wishes. The last wish, you get to keep, and it’s your duty to make this wish come true. Instead of a candle, I’ve been lighting a stick of cinnamon incense along with my wish, as well as pulling a tarot card to represent each of the 12 months, the final card will be an overview of the New Year. It’s been an exciting ritual, and I can’t wait to see what wish I pull at the end of the 12 Magical Days!

☆ While searching for wrapping paper for gifts, I found my American Girl doll! I honestly thought my parents threw her away (they love to get rid of my toys if they’re not safe in my room) because she was missing a leg. Long story short, one of my younger sister’s friends accidentally pulled her leg off a couple of years ago. I still have the leg, I just need to reattach it. I’ve watched some videos on YouTube and it looks like such a complicated process. You literally have to take the entire AG doll apart, and I’m not sure if I want to do that 😅 Hopefully, I can gain the courage and fix her on my own because I would love to glam her up. I’m not really interested in American Girl dolls, but I would still love to repair her, display her in my room, and use her as a model. You know, healing my inner child and stuff like that. Plus, I know a lot of people still collect AG dolls, especially the younger generation! Earlier this year, I crocheted some American Girl clothing and they were for people in their 20s!

☆ So, this is going to be my last Mundane Magic post of 2025. Don’t worry, I’ll be continuing this series next year! It’s wild how quickly this year flew by! If I’m honest, this was one of my worst years ever, and I’m not someone who throws phrases like that around. With everything that’s gone on in the world (especially the US), I really struggled with my mental health this year. There were several days in which I couldn’t see the light and didn’t want to be here. I’ve always been an optimistic person, but this year took away my hope that things would get better. I convinced myself that the world wouldn’t miss me. I’m someone who suffers in silence rather than tell people my issues, which is why I started therapy again this year. I know therapy won’t automatically fix things, but it’s nice to talk to someone about my life stressors from an unbiased and nonjudgmental point of view. So, if you’re also struggling, I advise you to seek out help. Some people only ever post about their accomplishments or celebrate the good things that happened to them this year on social media. I don’t want to be that person. This year sucked for me, which is why I’m sharing this with you all. If all you did today was get out of bed, then I’m proud of you for that! Someone out there needs you to be here. Whether you believe it or not. Things can and will get better. Don’t lose faith and remember you’re not alone.
