Books I Want to Read During Leo Season ♥ Leo TBR

Welcome back to another Zodiac sign TBR! If you missed the last post in this series, go check it out. In this series, I’ll be recommending books that I think give off the feeling of a certain zodiac sign. I judge books based on the cover and/or synopsis to determine which zodiac sign vibes with said book, and recommend a few books that I haven’t read before. This is a TBR, so I hope to read one (if not all) of these books within the length of a certain astrological season.
For Leo season, I’ll only be recommending two books because I read A LOT in July/Cancer season and as much as I enjoy reading, when I focus on too much of one hobby, my other hobbies will suffer and there are a few hobbies that I want to focus my energy in August so I’m going to take it easy with the reading in August. Plus, I still need to finish We Love You, Bunny by Mona Awad, and want to finish it before its release date so I can review it for you all. Hopefully, all you Leos don’t mind! I’m still excited to share the two books I picked out for the sign of Leo.
About Leos
Leo is the fifth sign in the astrology wheel. They’re a fixed fire sign and ruled by the sun. Leos are natural-born leaders who like to take charge. They love the spotlight and being the center of attention, and will sometimes seek out situations to be the main focus. Because their symbol is a lion, those who are ruled by the sign of Leo give off a royal vibe. They also love to be adored! But Leos are also loyal to the bone and will fiercely protect their loved ones. because they are intensely brave. Leo signs are fun, playful, and generous people who are super friendly and easy to get along with.
Go read my Leo astrology spotlight for more information on Cancer signs. There is also an astrology spotlight for each of the 12 zodiac signs.

Magic Mutant Nightmare Girl by Erin Grammar
HOLLY ROADS uses Harajuku fashion to distract herself from tragedy. Her magical girl aesthetic makes her feel beautiful-and it keeps the world at arm’s length. She’s an island of one, until advice from an amateur psychic expands her universe. A midnight detour ends with her vs. exploding mutants in the heart of San Francisco.
Brush with destiny? Check. Waking up with blue blood, emotions gone haywire, and terrifying strength that starts ripping her wardrobe to shreds? Totally not cute. Hunting monsters with a hot new partner and his unlikely family of mad scientists? Way more than she bargained for.
The description of Magic Mutant Nightmare Girl 100% gives off Leo energy. A book about a magical girl in Harajuku-style clothing saving the world from monsters? YES, QUEEN! When it comes to Leo signs, I always think of beauty and fashion, especially bold fashion, as Leo signs are unapologetic about the way they express themselves! Plus, Harajuku fashion just screams Leo! lol

Paper Doll: Notes from a Late Bloomer by Dylan Mulvaney
When Dylan Mulvaney came out as a woman online, she was a viral sensation almost overnight, emerging as a trailblazing voice on social media. Dylan’s personal coming-out story blossomed into a platform for advocacy and empowerment for trans people all over the world. Through her “Days of Girlhood” series, she connected with followers by exploring what it means to be a girl, from experimenting with makeup to story times to spilling the tea about laser hair removal, while never shying away from discussing the transphobia she faced online. Nevertheless, she was determined to be a beacon of positivity.
But shortly after she celebrated day 365 of being a girl, it all came screeching to a halt when an innocuous post sparked a media firestorm and right-wing backlash she couldn’t have expected. Despite the vitriolic press and relentless paparazzi, Dylan was determined to remain loud and proud.
Another thing you should know about the Leos is that they have the strength like no other sign. For the author of this book, Dylan Mulvaney, to talk about their transition into becoming a woman and sharing it online for millions of people to comment on, it takes a lot of bravery! Though Dylan isn’t a Leo, sharing their journey, especially through issues that women normally face, reminds me of what a Leo person would do. Like I mentioned, Leos aren’t afraid to be authentically themselves, and I think Dylan is fearless for sharing who they are. This memoir sounds like it will be the perfect read for Leo season!

Have you read any of these books? What books remind you of Leos?

I love the cover for Magic Mutant Nightmare Girl! It makes me think of Sailor Moon. And you’ve got that right! Leos are notorious for being bold and expressive, and I love them for it. Paper Doll also drips with how a Leo Queen would move, from how you described it. These are amazing pics for Leo Season x ! I loved your selections, Michelle.
Yeah! It gives me strong Sailor Moon vibes too! I can’t wait to start reading it! Thank you ♥
