Leo Solar Eclipse Journal Prompts
On August 12 at 1.37 pm (EDT), there will be a New Moon/total solar eclipse in the zodiac sign of Leo. A total solar eclipse occurs when the light from the Sun is blocked temporarily. In this case, the Sun will be blocked for about 2 minutes. Depending on your location, you may be able to view this eclipse. In this post, Iโm sharing a bit of information about the Leo Solar Eclipse and how you can work with its lunar energy. As well as a few journaling prompts to help you connect with this solar eclipse in the sign of Leo.
ABOUT THE LEO Solar Eclipse
A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon gets between Earth and the Sun, and the Moon casts a shadow over Earth. Solar Eclipses always occur under a New Moon (Lunar eclipses occur under Full Moons). A New Moon is the beginning of a new moon cycle. At this moon phase, the moonโs lumination is at 0%. Itโs time for a fresh beginning, which means this is the perfect time to start from scratch, restart, and try something new.
Spiritually speaking, Solar Eclipses challenge us by testing our inner strength and potentially causing upheaval. Eclipses force us to try an alternative route to reach a goal. Solar eclipses are always positive, even if you might not think so. Be welcoming and embrace these changes with an open mind!
HOW TO WORK WITH THIS Solar Eclipse
Make bold decisions and moves. Big changes could occur in your life during this solar eclipse. Could be the keyword. This solar eclipse is at 20 degrees of Leo. Consult your birth chart to see if you have anything within 15-25 degrees in the sign of Leo. Whatever the planet and/or house the Leo lands in your chart, that’s where this solar eclipse energy will be felt, and that’s where these transits will affect your life.
Leo is a fixed fire sign. Meaning that they’re the type to be bold and take action. If you feel like you need to make a change in your life, you don’t feel fulfilled in some way. Leo is offering you a chance to take a risk! Not to be dramatic (but Leo loves that!), but this is a total solar eclipse, meaning that whatever happens under this lunar cycle could be heavily felt in your life, depending on your chart.
In terms of ritual, anytime you want to work with a fire sign, use fire. Safely of course! Light a candle or burn some incense. Becuase this is still a New Moon, I still recommend my go-to New Moon ritual where I cleanse with some type of smoke (incense, palo santo, etc.), meditate, pull a few tarot cards, charge my crystals and tools, and jot down in my Moon journal.
