Latte Art Coaster โฅ Crochet Pattern
I’m a huge coffee addict and love anything that has anything to do with coffee, latte art being one of them. I thought it would be a cute project to marry latte art with coffee by crocheting a latte art-inspired cup coaster! How cute would it look if you placed a cup of coffee with latter art on top of this coaster?
This is a fairly simple crochet pattern, which doesn’t require you to cut off your yarn too much. You’ll start by making a heart. I used this heart pattern but also included it below for you to easily access the pattern. To make the color change flawless, make sure to perform a hidden crochet stitch, I didn’t in the photos below. This crochet pattern was first written in 2028 and I’m updating it in 2025!

Supplies
– H/5.00 mm crochet hook (my favorite hook)
– Worsted weight yarn (your choice of color)
White worsted weight yarn
– Brown worsted weight yarn
– Slanted tapestry needle (I use these)
– Scissors
Aberrations
ch(s) – chains
st(s) – stitch(es)
slst – slip stitch (same as join)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
flo – front loop only
blo – back loop only
cc – color change
dec – decrease (same as sc2tog) (single two st together)
inc – increase (make 2sc in a single st)
RS – right side/front side
WS – wrong side/back side
(x_) – repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] – repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times

HEART
With H hook and white yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 5 sts. Total = 5 sts
Round 2: ch 3. 10 dc and 1 slst in first ch st.
Round 3: ch 3; 3 tr in same st. 3 tr in next st. 1 dc, 1 hdc in next st. 1 sc in next 2 sts. 1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc in next st. 1 sc in next 2 sts. 1 hdc, 1 dc in next st. 3 tr in next st. 3 tr, 1 dc in next st. slst to the first st.
Do not cut off
cc to white yarn
slst around the heart. Total = 26 sts
Cut off and weave ends
CUP
With H hook and brown yarn
Round 1: sc behind the stitches of the slstย you did in the previous round.
Round 2: 2sc in the first and last sts. You should have 28 sts. Total = 28 sts
Round 3: [2sc in next st, sc 1 st](x12), 2sc in last st. Total = 41 sts
Round 4: sc 41 sts. Total = 41 sts
cc to the white yarn
Round 5: sc 41 sts. Total = 41 sts
Round 6: [2sc in next st, sc 2 st](x12), 2sc in last st. Total = 54 sts
cc to yarn color of your choice
Round 7: sc 54 sts. Total = 54 sts
Do not cut off

With H hook and yarn color of your choice
Rows 1-3: sc 4 sts. Total = 4 sts
Row 4: dec 2 sts. Total 2 sts
