Bratz: Rhythm & Style โฅ Game Review

Last month, I reviewed Bratz: Flaunt Your Fashion, the cozy fashion game that brought back memories of me being a teen during a simpler time. Well, I was recently contacted asking if I wanted to play and review the newest Bratz game, Bratz: Rhythm & Style. Of course, I said yes! I was so excited for this game to be released because I enjoyed the first game and watching the trailer for Bratz: Rhythm & Style made me even more excited! Hopefully, you’ve all been enjoying all the Bratz content because I’ve been having fun reminiscing on my days of playing with my Bratz dolls!
There are a few spoilers, so if you donโt want me to ruin anything, maybe skip out on this post and come back after youโve completed the game. Read at your own discretion.
DISCLAIMER: I was sent a free copy of this game to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
ABOUT BRATZ: RHYTHM & STYLE
Rule the runway and take the stage with Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha, and Jade. Conquer the world in style, creating customizable fashions in the Bratz Fashion Studios. Showcase your signature looks and groove to your favorite songs from the Bratz universe, including โSo Goodโ.
Jet off to iconic cities, from Paris to Tokyo, but watch out for โ self-proclaimed โStyle Queenโ, Burdine and the Tweevil Twins who are determined to steal the spotlight. Can you out-style and out-dance them in epic fashion battles?ย
Take on the challenge โ party in single or multiplayer with up to four players.
It’s time to express yourself!
THINGS I LOVED
โ
More fashion and clothes, there are over 400+ fashion items! Obviously, the best part of the game is dressing and styling the four Bratz, at least for me!
โ You can customize by changing the color of some of the clothing and accessories. I thought this was a cool addition! It allows you to style your looks even more!
โ
Improved hair and makeup setup! If you read my first review, you knew this was a major complaint for me. But they’ve changed how you dress and style the Bratz in this game which made me so happy. You can even zoom in when you are changing hair and makeup!
โ You can save your favorite looks
โ
Various game options. You can pick from story mode (you can pick from two modes), free play (which you can connect and play with friends), and Stylin’ Room. Choosing Stylin’ Room allows you can change the Bratz outfits before you start the main game!
โ More locations and cities to visit! You get to explore six new cities!
โ
Bratz Lore. Some secondary Bratz characters show up, a popular Bratz couple, and the return of Burdine Maxwell and the Tweevils!
โ You had more to do in Bratz: Rhythm & Style. This game felt longer than the first. I can’t wait to play it a second time!
โ
Easier to change characters, this was another issue I had with Bratz: Flaunt Your Fashion, but again, they changed it for this game!
โ The extra downloaded content! There are a few DLC expansion packs where you get to play as some of the other characters featured in Bratz: Rhythm & Style. I havenโt played any of them yet but canโt wait to!!

THINGS I DIDN’T LOVE
โ
All the games! There are many more games in Bratz: Rhythm & Style, and they’re actually difficult, and I played the easy version! There are three games: Fashion Show (where you pose), Dance (which was a game featured in Bratz: Flaunt Your Fashion), and Gym. Gym is a game to simply to earn money. But, you have to play the Fashion Show and Dance games in order to progress in the game. The dance part was my least favorite part because I feel like the runaway portion was enough. Not only that, but the dance goes on for FOREVER, a total of 3 minutes but it felt longer! I found the dance part especially challenging. I wish there were an option to skip the dance game altogether.
โ The original voice cast from the first game didn’t return. Olivia Hack was the only voice actor who returned to reprise her role as Cloe.
โ
The graphics are slightly different in this game, which makes the Bratz look slightly different from the first game. Yasmin and Cloe especially looked different to me, Sasha and Jade were less noticeable. To be honest, it looks like they had plastic surgery. lol
โ No side quests. They basically ignore the Bratz Magazine in this game, which was a shame.
โ
Barely any cutscenes. I think there was only like two cutscenes in the entire game!
โ Less speaking dialogue, so you have to read more, which is a pet peeve of mine in video games.
โ
The Bratz Boyz got ignored in this game. They were a big part in the first game, but they weren’t even included in Bratz: Rhythm & Style.
โ Repeating NPC characters
โ
No selfie photos, one of my favorite features in the first game was that you got to take selfies after a side quest. It was a cute feature, but it didn’t make it into this game.
FINAL THOUGHTS
If were to judge Bratz: Rhythm & Style on its own, it’s a fun enjoyable fashion game! But, because I played Bratz: Flaunt Your Fashion, I can’t help but compare the two. I loved all the new fashion, hair, and makeup in this game, and the customizing feature was a pretty cool addition. I never got bored styling and playing dress up with the Bratz girls!
Rhythm & Style felt longer than Flaunt Your Fashion because you visited six cities which made it feel like you had much more to do. And if you’re like me, who has to collect all the items, it takes a while to play all the games to earn enough money for all the fashion items. Bratz: Flaunt Your Fashion did feel a lot easier, I mean I completed the game multiple times in the span of a week! So, I do like that Bratz: Rhythm & Style was more challenging, especially towards the end!
If you’re a fan of the Bratz dolls or cozy fashion games, I think you’ll love Bratz: Rhythm & Style. I can’t wait to play it multiple times and download some of the DLC! Iโm currently on my second playthrough of this game!
You can purchase a physical copy of Bratz: Rhythm & Style for Nintendo Switch here. I played this game on the Nintendo Switch console. You can download it via the Nintendo Store here.
Have you played any of the Bratz video games before?
