Basic Flower ♥ Crochet Pattern

One of the first things I learned to crochet was these cute basic flowers. I don’t remember where I found the flower crochet pattern but it was a random Youtube back in 2008-2010. I tried looking for it but couldn’t find the video so it must have been taken down. That’s when I thought, maybe I can recreate it from memory and share it with my blog readers! This is the perfect crochet pattern for a beginner or newbie because it only uses the magic circle technique, slip stitch, and double crochet stitch. Don’t worry about the type of hook or yarn because you can use whatever size and the flower will still come out the same. I actually used two different hook sizes for some of the flowers. You can use these flowers for whatever you want, as a gift, for another project, or put them in a jar like I did!

Supplies
– H/5.00 mm crochet hook (my favorite hook)
– Worsted weight yarn
– Slanted tapestry needle (I use these)
– Scissors

Aberrations
ch(s) – chains
st(s) – stitch(es)
slst – slip stitch (same as join)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
flo – front loop only
blo – back loop only
cc – color change
dec – decrease (same as sc2tog) (single two st together)
inc – increase (make 2sc in a single st)
RS – right side/front side
WS – wrong side/back side
(x_) – repeat (_) amount of times
[x_] – repeat everything inside the [_] times amount of times

FLOWER
With hook and yarn
Round 1: magic circle, sc 5 sts. Total = 5 sts
Round 2: 2sc in each st all around. Total = 10 sts
Round 3: [slst, ch 1, 4dc in next st ](x5). Total = 10 sts
Cut off and leave a long tail for sewing

ASSEMBLY
Hide tail end but using a slanted needle and weaving it in and out of the back center of the flower. Double knot and cut off.
