Advent Countdown Blocks ♥ Crochet Pattern

Just like my Mimikyu Plush crochet pattern, my Advent countdown blocks crochet pattern didn’t transfer over from my Blogger to WordPress transition, which is why I’m reposting it. This pattern is extra special because it was the first crochet pattern in my 2017 Blogmas series! If you didn’t know, for years, I published blog posts for the entire month of December with Holiday-inspired DIYs and crochet patterns. These countdown blocks were designed to be used as a way to count down the days leading up to Christmas. Of course, you don’t have to use these blocks for that. There are several ways you can use these blocks. I think they would make a cute calendar!

If you crochet this project, you can post it on Ravelry or tag me @mooeyscrochet so that I can see your creation. If you would like to support me in making this crochet pattern available for free, you can send me a Ko-fi. ASSEMBLY
To make these Advent countdown blocks, you’re going to need either some wooden blocks or cubes. If you can’t find any, you can upcycle some old packaging boxes or cardboard, or use interfacing or a thick cardstock.

You can either surface crochet the numbers onto the pieces with yarn, or you can cut out the numbers with felt. Write the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, on one cube, and 0, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 on the other cube. Adhere the crochet pieces to the sides of your block, boxes, interface, or whatever you’re using with glue.

Leave enough room to sew the sides of the crochet pieces to each other. I used red-colored yarn because I wanted my blocks to have a handmade look, but you can use a yarn color that matches the crochet pieces if you prefer. Weave all your loose yarn ends and you’re done!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
